Multimedia exhibition Without a place

How does one develop a feeling of home in a city to which one has moved by necessity, not by choice? How do you find your place? The Without a Place project is dedicated to the problem of human identity in the city, society and history. The project has gathered stories of people who were forced to relocate. The exhibition Without a Place was presented for the first time at the premises of the Dnipro South Station, where the past meets the present, in the place of undefined state.

Arrival Hall. Installation

What is the cost of life? What is the cost of compassion? Are there universal answers to the question? Someone will see it as a cube of belongings, packed by refugees in a hurry. Someone will see it as material values, which are the reason displaced people do not leave their ruined homes, risking their lives. And someone will see it as rags, which instead of being thrown away are given to displaced people in the heat of compassion for their grief. The cube is a position, and we are limited by it.

Transit zone. Media installation

Eight stories of refugees are presented from completely different angles out of bureaucracy and propaganda. Characters talk about their deep feelings and invite the viewer to join the discussion. The internal grading of the project is from private to general. The discourse tends to lose political focus and explores its living and historical aspects. There is no universal conclusion. But there is a space for analysis and reflection.
